The Primal Movement Meets Austrian Economics

What happens when subscribers of Austrian Economics and The Primal Movement come together? Knowledge! Dr. Tom Woods of Liberty Classroom & TomWoods.com  interviewed Mark Sisson, author of the Primal Blueprint Book & Primal Movement on the Peter Schiff show.   I, being a fan of both Tom Woods and Mark Sisson separately,  before this interview, can completely understand why this would happen. When I first discovered Mark Sisson’s Primal book, it opened my eyes to an entirely different way of thinking about health, nutrition, exercise, stress, and sleep. It gave me a lifestyle I was confident enough with to get rid of unwanted weight, any type of sugar/bread habits/addiction, and bad habits in exercise, sleep, and stress-management. And not long ago, the Mises Institute and Tom Woods, and many others from and experts of that school of thought and philosophy, revolutionized the way I think about politics, economics, and history. This type of information has never been more important than it is today, which makes it exciting and enlightening, & is definitely related to the Primal Movement in a unique way. I’ve wanted the two groups to come together for very long, and now they are starting to; watch the interview below. [Tom Woods interviews Mark [...]

How the Paleo & Primal Movement Suffer Due to BIG Government

“I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.” -Thomas Jefferson The Primal Movement and Paleo Movement have grown by leaps and bounds in popularity, research, & appliance over the past few years, which usually occurs when individuals-the market-research, apply, and see success with a respective subject & want to see more.  I personally like to participate in these life/eating styles, which primarily revolve around eating whole foods that our digestive systems evolved on, and that many of our ancestors ate, such as meats, vegetables, and fruits. Both these lifestyles also call for changes in workouts, stress habits, sleeping habits, and other things that have made a difference for me and others. But, despite this success, the Paleo and primal messages are suffering, and in my opinion, it is because of the erosion of the free market and the principles the free market introduces, which are beneficial to innovation and business and of course, the individual participant and producer. Within the last couple of years, The nearly monopolized health & food sectors have only become more monopolized through government “participation” & growth, while small [...]

Primal Blueprint Eating Plan Perfect for Summer

Summer’s relationship with fat loss is a rough one. Barbecues and pools usually mean bathing suits, and for someone who is on the path of fat loss,  their anticipation is based on their judgement of their own progress, usually negative.  For the more opportunistic though, summer is a motivator to reach health related goals, as well as the perfect environment for primal eating.  [A vision of the Primal Food Guide Pyramid, completely made by Mark Sisson of the Primal Blueprint and Marks Daily Apple] The Primal Blueprint  eating plan, or what some may know as the  related eating pattern, the Paleo Diet, is an eating pattern based around meats, vegetables, and fruit primarily. It is based on certain affirmations also [Source], 80 Percent of Body Composition is based on diet, or what food and drink you consume  lean body mass is the key indicator of health; it is the muscle and non-fat tissue of your body excess body fat and excess insulin are related and both bad  Within the primal philosophy is the central goal to be free of the physical limits which excess body fat and excess insulin cause.  To do this efficiently, Mark Sisson, and others who have contributed to [...]

Paleo Blogger, Where Free Speech Ends and Licensed Speech Begins

A Paleo Blogger who suffered from Diabetes and created a blog to discuss the issue and his success with the Paleo Diet received an order from the North Carolina Board of Dietitians and Nutrition to cease and desist from exercising his Natural and Constitutional right to Free Speech.  Steve Cooksey, who is now being defended by the Institute for Justice, started DiabetesWarrior Dot Net as a method of communicating about himself and nutritional information and opinions with others. His blog experienced success in attracting a sizable amount of readers, and he was recently invited to speak at a Conference on January 12, 2012, where he voiced his opinions, which do not agree with mainstream notions and opinion. [Short video on Paleo Blogger Steve Cooksey's Case for Free Speech] Shortly after the Conference, possibly after someone at the Conference “took offense” to his statements and reported him to the Government North Carolina board of dietitians and nutrition, Mr. Cooksey received a call from the Director of the Board dictating the following [Source]: “She stated that I, as a non-licensed person could provide NO dietary or nutritional advice… period.   It makes no difference if I am giving the advice away or if it’s for a fee” “She [...]

The Dark Side of Fat Loss Review

When that which is false becomes truth, the truth goes underground. And it is that idea, which led Sean Croxton, Health & Fitness Expert & CHEK Practitioner, to found the well known website and movement, Underground Wellness. Sean sees the truth in Nutrition and Health as the “Dark Side“, because even though he and his 40,000+ readers and viewers see it as the truth, the mainstream majority consistently adopts information that is given to them without independent research, and without individual personalization. Sean has covered a vast amount of topics over the years, ranging from the effects of Sugar and Fructose, to the truth about Meats and Cholesterol, to the necessity and function of Sleep, the benefits of natural compound exercise, to the effects of stress and hormones throughout the body.
