Bill to Ban Arizona Photo Radar Introduced

UPDATE VIA AZ C4L: HB 2579 will be brought to session on February 21st! KEEP IT UP!

The Arizona Photo Radar program may finally be coming to an end with recently introduced HB 2579, the Photo Radar Prohibition Act.

After massive public outcry brought the AZ Photo Radar Prohibition Act to near success last year, falling short by only one vote, city-wide bans were enacted in the major cities of Tempe and Peoria, with similar efforts in other major cities across Arizona. Additionally, the AZ government was forced by its employers discontent, We the People, to remove cameras on all Arizona highways and Freeways

Despite the AZ photo radar legislation’s failure last year, HB 2579, the Photo Radar Prohibition Act, has the support of thousands of more Arizonans and supporters from around the country, and is riding on the success of state and city wide bans across the country.

This is especially true now that details show that major Arizona politicians, who levied a tax on speed tickets, were funding their political campaigns with speed-tickets issued by photo radars.

That’s right, not only was the government illegally issuing tickets to Arizonans without trial, without jury, without any consideration of any detail besides the government camera’s “side”, but politicians created an additional tax for Citizens to pay for getting a speeding ticket, and then used those funds to fund their elections. This is a clear example of bad government creating more bad government, not that there really exists such a thing as  ”good government”.

According to the Arizona Campaign for Liberty,

“Every single legislator who used the “clean” elections fund in Arizona to run their campaign was using money extracted from the wallets of Arizona motorists. That’s because 10 percent of every photo ticket that is paid goes into the fund, which adds up to millions of dollars, every cycle”

Empty metal bars are abundant across intersections in Tempe and they are wonderful works of art that I enjoy daily. There is beauty in knowing that where once illegal cameras were creating a televised police state for government officials seeking to fine and tax Citizens to bankruptcy and government dependency, there exists only metal bars with no attachments atop, a symbol of Arizonan’s discontent with the increased burden of injustice and inefficiency created by tyrannical legislators.

It’s a site to see that I and other Arizonans will soon enjoy in every major city. Every second of delay between now and the ban of AZ photo radar cameras means more people unlawfully forced to pay enormous fines and more people’s Natural and Constitutional Rights violated. Every second of delay between now and a complete ban on these photo radar cameras means more stolen dollars from individuals and families around the state going into the pockets of tyrannical legislators who use the funds for their re-election, and for companies afraid of competition and in need of government funds, bailouts, and monopolies.

There is no compromise between the natural Rights of Arizonans, the 5th and 6th Amendments to the Constitution, and Arizona photo radar tickets.

There is no middle ground between individuals and families being forced to pay enormous fines capable of completely depleting emergency funds, savings, and budgets,  and the tyrants imposing them while simultaneously encouraging government spending habits that devalue the currency, empty the “treasury”, and destroy jobs and pocketing the fine/tax money.

Thanks to the hard work of the folks at Arizona branch and central Campaign for Liberty, the specific representatives to contact to co-sponsor HB 2579 are listed below.

VIA C4L:

“At this point you have to ask yourself, just exactly whom are they working for? Are they upholding the oath they swore to the Constitution? Or are they just taking bribes from private, foreign companies who are tracking you like cattle, putting your life and property at risk, and doing it for the easy money?”

The following legislators refused to cosponsor the “Photo Radar Prohibition” Bill, HB 2579, and have yet to sign on:”

Additionally, the Arizona Campaign for Liberty has pointed out a key establishment figure pushing cameras photographing and fining Arizona individuals and families, Transportation Committee Chair Karen Fann (R-LD1).

Apparently, Karen has the self-delivered power to kill the bill and bring the bill to the floor for hearing, a power that can be influenced by massive exposure, calls, emails and letters:

The next meeting of the Transportation Committee is today, February 14th, the perfect time to flood her and other legislators offices with questioning on their use of private Arizona individual’s salary to fund their campaigns, Arizona photo radar cameras, and demands of votes to repeal these tyrannical cameras.

At this point in time, we have the opportunity to stand and say NO, to make it clear that we will not comply, and that the criminals who have stolen millions from Arizonans and violated thousands of individual rights will be held accountable.

Support HB 2579; take down the cameras!

Thank you Heather, have a good feeling we will win this time.

Anything that comes as close as that (a single vote) should inevitably succeed when its redone as the few will be a lot more encouraged to come out and vote. Its days are numbered

Most definitely agree Bethany, time to strip the cameras down!
