Bradley Cooper Workout and Diet

Bradley Cooper will be starring in the upcoming film, Limitless. Limitless tell’s the Story of Bradley Cooper’s character, Eddie Mora, who disovers a pill that gives him superhuman abilities and makes him “limitless”.

Bradley Cooper is famous for his previous roles in movies such as The Hangover and the action flick, The A-Team, where he became a fitness role model in Hollywood. The Bradley Cooper A team workout is also very popular, but seems that his general workout routine is just as effective.

This post will cover the research on the Bradley Cooper Workout and Diet

Bradley Cooper’s workout for the A-Team got him ripped, a body he’s sported throughout all his films.

[Looks like a really interesting movie, definitely going to see it. P.S. my friend Rusty Moore, of Fitness Black Book (high traffic fitness website) has a few videos he's made on why the Hollywood body is superior and how he thinks you can achieve it. Definitely worth a watch too.]

Research on the Bradley Cooper Workout:

Bradley Cooper’s workout was called the 3-2-1 workout.  Supposedly, Cooper would match 3 intervals of cardio with 2 intervals of strength training and one interval of core-specific training.

Each interval lasted 10 minutes; since there were six intervals, that added up to 60 minutes.

Bradley Cooper’s workouts would often last two hours, meaning the six 10 minute intervals would often be repeated.

Now, the frequency of these workouts was not mentioned, but in reviewing the intensity and longevity of Bradley Cooper’s workout, the max frequency would have to be 3-5 times a week.

For the A-Team movie, Cooper worked for six months to achieve the body he sported. What we can grab form this is that achieving that degree of fitness requires not only consistent hard work, but patience. One workout won’t get you ripped, but one workout will bring you one step closer to achieving the body you want.

Additionally, Cooper made sacrifices for his health and fitness, such as time and in diet (which I’ll show below). This shows us that dedication plays a key role in achieving a body you can appreciate.

Commenting on the frequency of his workouts, Bradley Cooper’s Workout appears to be very intense and long. This isn’t exactly necessary or even safe for the average person. It’s not necessary because the average person doesn’t have to show up for filming the movie as ripped as the previous day, whereas someone as Bradley Cooper does.

Secondly, it’s not as safe because the average person cannot dedicate a large portion of their lifestyle to workouts and recovery from them. Many stars have personal trainers, massage therapists, and even take many recovery supplements that may be out of reach to the average person.

This isn’t me saying you can’t achieve the body you want without all those things, instead, this is me saying that all that might not be necessary to achieve what you want.

Sample 3-2-1 Workout Bradley Cooper might have participated in:

  • Warm Up
  • 10 minutes moderate cardio like rowing or running
  • 10 Minutes weight training, compound movements such as squats, rows, presses
  • 10 minutes sprints or other high intensity cardio with rest after each sprint
  • 10 Minutes weight training, compound movements such as squats, rows, presses
  • 10 minutes moderate to high intensity cardio
  • 10 minutes of core/abdominal work

The key here is to go at your own pace and practice proper form. Form is key to everything; if you can’t keep form, you cannot avoid injuries, and injuries lead to time off workouts (counter productive).

Research on the Bradley Cooper Diet:

Bradley Cooper’s diet was described by him as being void of sugar, flour, and salt. He also avoided drinking, although I couldn’t find out whether he completely avoided it or minimized it. The reasoning behind the avoidance of alcohol was to make sure he was on time for his early AM workouts. We can make an inference that he avoided getting drunk, as to avoid the hangover, but may have not avoided a drink here and there.

From what I’ve seen, avoiding sugars and flour is a method commonly taken by many Hollywood actors. Avoiding an abundance of carbohydrate can not only reduce calorie consumption significantly directly, but can also do it indirectly by minimizing cravings. Additionally, managing carbohydrate consumption can lead to increased insulin sensitivity, which can help with losing fat and building muscle.

Final Words on Bradley Cooper’s Workout and Diet:

I think a lot of people become intimidated when they see Hollywood workouts and diets, but the workouts and diets themselves are not the reason I like to write about them. I like to show how dedication and consistency go a long way in achieving the body you want. Additionally, I like to show that even Hollywood stars have to work hard for the bodies they achieve.

Every person has the exact same potential to achieve, it’s just that since this is the job of Actors, they push and push until they find the inner strength that allows them to achieve what they want. You have that same inner strength.

P.S. if you’re looking for a more formal workout routine and diet, Rusty Moore, of Fitness Black Book, a very popular fitness and health website, has designed programs for men and for women looking to achieve the “Hollywood look”. His focus while making these programs was losing fat and building muscle; it wasn’t focused on anything else health related. And sometimes more focus is what we need to achieve the results we want.
