STOP The Senate Gun Control Magazine Ban And CyberSecurity Act

UPDATE 8/3/2012: Senate CYBERSECURITY ACT AND GUN MAGAZINE BAN DEFEATED FOR NOW, according to Senator Harry Reid’s whining about tyrannical legislation failing. 

S. 3414 “CyberSecurity Act” and S.A. 2575, the Schumer “Magazine Ban”, are being voted on this week, possibly within the next 24 hours. 

It is imperative that we stop the Senate from passing an Unconstitutional “Cybersecurity Act”, also known as the Internet Patriot Act, and an Unconstitutional MAGAZINE BAN for magazines over 10 rounds, cheered by gun-control advocates and tyrants alike.

Currently, the Senate is debating this internet takeover, and the magazine ban, as forms of incremental tyranny. While these two violations may seem mild to some, history shows us how tyranny progresses incrementally, consistently chipping away at rights, and in times of crisis, taking large bites.

Certain Senators and tyrants around the country are attempting to justify a Government internet takeover with shouts of SECURITY, but the truth is that the internet is more secure than ever, and will only grow more secure, if kept free and private and in the hands of a Free Market and the free individuals who utilize it.

The internet is the last beacon of freedom on earth, its potential unlimited, its contribution to technology, jobs, economy, growth, communication unparalleled and invaluable. It has the potential to lead us into a next generation of prosperity, freedom, technology, and intelligence.

This is the true reason governments around the world want to regulate it, to control it, and to steer its direction in one opposite of now, opposite of freedom. This is the reason censorship is considered a necessary “SECURITY” measure by members of the united nations.

Oppose S. 3414 AND SUPPORT A FREE INTERNET.

The Right to self-defense is self-evident.

To live, you must survive, to survive, you must be able to defend yourself.  You must be able to exert control over your body, your property, and interact with others in way of fun, or in way of mutual exchange, benefit, and trade. Just as the right to free speech, and freedom of expression, are self-evident, the right to self-defense is.

The Second Amendment, fully stated,

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” [Source]

The Second Amendment clearly highlights the right of a free people to supply themselves “necessary to the security of a free state”, and to form and maintain a “well regulated Militia”. A Militia is not a group of handgun-carrying citizens; it is a well-armed group of citizens, likely carrying Military grade weapons, such as assault rifles, or at the time, muskets, and nowadays, AR-15s.

The Constitution did not have an expiration date; its amendments were not to be followed only to a certain year, or only to a certain extent of technology. The Rule of Law, the Constitution, is law based on predetermined principles and values, not to be sacrificed, but to be used to guarantee the freedom of individuals from government, to grow and create.

Those attempting to put an expiration date on the Second Amendment, the Natural Right to self-defense, would be hypocritical not to demand that free speech be limited and sacrificed on the internet, or to not demand that the Right to assembly be ignored because of the invention of the car. Unfortunately, the former, internet free speech sacrifice, is being voted on in the same bill, showing just how adamant some people are in attempt to take away your individual rights.

There is already a law against murder, yet crazy individuals still murder. “Outlawing guns” only gives a monopoly on guns to criminals and the government, just as most government regulation does.

 Legal-Carry Citizens are the best defense there is against true criminals, because they are already at the area where said-crisis is occurring, and are likely trained in a method to end it, and act as an equalizer with criminals, who may be bigger, have more dangerous weapons, or may otherwise greatly outnumber in force a large group of unarmed mothers, fathers, and children.

Two recent events show this exact thing occuring, once in Utah preventing a stab-spree, and once by a 71 Year old Man against two armed thugs, as seen in the video above.

Sadly, this did not occur in the Aurora shooting, which took place in a gun-free zone movie theater in a State that has laws that prosecute individuals who attempt to defend themselves in public, even in an event as horrific as this.

S.A. 2575, the gun-control Magazine Ban, is only 1 step in a large agenda to utilize crisis, like the Aurora shooting, like the Zimmerman case, like Operation Fast and Furious, to illegalize assault rifles, handguns, the Right to them, to self-defense, and the idea of a Right in general.

Defend Your Gun Rights, which includes the Right to purchase an assault rifle, and SAY NO TO S.A. 2575. 

Defend the last beacon of freedom, the Internet, and SAY NO TO S. 3414.
