Bloomberg and Ministry of Health Expand Food Police Power

Bloomberg and his Ministry of Health have already confirmed their ban on drinks greater than 16 ounces in size, and worked to limit feeding the homeless in efforts to make it illegal. NOW, the health panel, or Ministry of Health, have said publically that they are considering expanding the previous drink size ban to include movie popcorn and milkshakes, that are “high in calories too” [Source].

It seems that Bloomberg and his tyrannical colleagues have tasted power, and are exploring its might. The casual nature with which  they address adding more foods to the ban list screams of sociopathy and tyranny.

According to My Fox NY, the New York Restaurant Association is considering legal action, and rightly so. The law is an agreement, an agreement at the point of a gun facing the citizen when abused. Nonetheless, it is upon the principles of a somewhat Free Market that these restaurants opened for business in New York-one of the most difficult business environments to do so already-and to alter that law, to deliver the authority to government, to ban foods and steal the ownership of a person over his body is a clear violation of all that is just.

“Ah, you miserable creatures! You who think that you are so great! You who judge humanity to be so small! You who wish to reform everything! Why don’t you reform yourselves? That task would be sufficient enough.” -Frederic Bastiat of the Law

What needs to be said is what needs to be said, and that is, it will not stop with food. Right now, Bloomberg’s Ministry of Health is fighting the War on Obesity, and his other departments the War on Drugs, but as it has moved from drugs to obesity, it will move from obesity to information. Once the precedent is set that government may interfere and dictate in one form of input into individual bodies, all forms of input become vulnerable.

And I want to ask this, how far off is that way of life which is implied above in New York? There are already surveillance cameras in every area of New York, there is “Stop and Frisks” whereby any individual can be stopped for “probable cause” and searched on the street. There is already talk of TSA Viper Teams on every highway and form of public transportation.

One is right to ask WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE?

I wonder what happens when New York’s department concerned with small business, which I am 100% sure they have wasted money on, sees the consequences of New York’s Ministry of Health when small businesses start leaving and citizens start migrating to other more free states.

What New Yorkers must realize is that these departments and the philosophy behind them, that government is anything more than what George Washington said,

“Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master”

is a lie and excuse for laziness at the cost of tyranny and absolute obedience. These departments and their philosophy are stealing and plundering the people and businesses of New York.
