American Censorship of The Internet and the Digital Bill of Rights

Representative Darrell Issa of California and Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon proposed a bi-partisan effort to create a form of Bill of Rights for the internet, presumably,  as a way to fight back against American Censorship of the Internet through CISPA, FISA, or similar legislation. Representative Darrell Issa, on his website, Keep The Web Open, declares, “I believe that individuals possess certain fundamental rights. Government should exist to protect those rights against those who would violate them. That is the revolutionary principle at the heart of the American Declaration of Independence and U.S.Constitution” The drafted digital Bill of Rights created by Issa includes: the right to an uncensored internet all citizens are created equal on the internet citizens are free to associate and collaborate citizens have a right to privacy and to property While the content of the bill does sound good, I am a little suspicious of the creator, Rep. Issa, who did  vote YES on NDAA, and voted YES on CISPA. I wonder if such a bill were created, would it be limited to the language within Issa’s document, or would it be subject to politics, and thus, require someone like Issa to sponsor it? And if Rep. Issa [...]

Bloomberg and Ministry of Health Expand Food Police Power

Bloomberg and his Ministry of Health have already confirmed their ban on drinks greater than 16 ounces in size, and worked to limit feeding the homeless in efforts to make it illegal. NOW, the health panel, or Ministry of Health, have said publically that they are considering expanding the previous drink size ban to include movie popcorn and milkshakes, that are “high in calories too” [Source].  It seems that Bloomberg and his tyrannical colleagues have tasted power, and are exploring its might. The casual nature with which  they address adding more foods to the ban list screams of sociopathy and tyranny. According to My Fox NY, the New York Restaurant Association is considering legal action, and rightly so. The law is an agreement, an agreement at the point of a gun facing the citizen when abused. Nonetheless, it is upon the principles of a somewhat Free Market that these restaurants opened for business in New York-one of the most difficult business environments to do so already-and to alter that law, to deliver the authority to government, to ban foods and steal the ownership of a person over his body is a clear violation of all that is just.  “Ah, you miserable creatures! You [...]

North Dakota Votes to Restore Natural Property Rights

UPDATE: North Dakota Abolishment of Property Taxes Fails 22.5 percent to 77.5 percent [Source]. North Dakota Voters will face Measure 2 on their ballot tomorrow, Tuesday, June 12 2012, a measure to restore Natural Property Rights and true ownership to property-owning citizens who are required to pay rent on what they purchased to escape rent. In Measure Two’s own words,  “Taxes upon real property, which were used before 2012 to fund the operations of counties, cities, townships, school districts, park districts, water districts, irrigation districts, fire protection districts, soil conservation districts, and other political subdivisions with authority to levy property taxes must be replaced with revenues from the proceeds of state sales taxes, individual and corporate income taxes, oil and gas production and extraction taxes, tobacco taxes, lottery revenues, financial institutions taxes, and other state resources” Measure 2 highlights the importance of property rights and the hypocrisy of a property tax. Who really holds ownership of land and estate if it is specifically taxed for its nature without appeal or contract? What is the benefit of owning property, if in addition to paying for ownership of the property, a large tax is levied that discourages property ownership, discourages savings, and hinders the quality of life [...]

Keynesian Economy Loses 129,000 Millionaires And Doesn’t Blink

In 2011, the Keynesian Model of Economy managed and planned in the United States lost 129,000 millionaires.  According to CNBC the number of millionaires in America fell from 5,263,000 in 2010 to 5,134,000 in 2011.  Wealth in other economic “powerhouses”, such as China, saw growth during this massive loss for the US economy.  To some, this isn’t seen as a massive loss. And to those who gained millionaires and whose government may be adopting more free market principles, congratulations. But there are those in the United States, who celebrate the loss of millionaires from this country. There are those who wish to tax every dollar, regulate every decision, and spend every dollar of profit private companies make. They would rather see the gap between the wealthy and the lower economic class shrink due to wealthy losing wealth, or leaving, than see the poor and the wealthy grow in prosperity together. Some Politicians would champion the loss of wealth by the wealthy and attempt to use it to champion an achievement of equalization of wealth, because as they see it, a rich class and the opportunity to move upwards in society if you are a member of a lower economic class is a [...]
