The Unconstitution of the United States of America

“When the People Fear the government, there is Tyranny. When the government fears the people, there is Liberty”-Thomas Jefferson

2012 has been a tough year. We are only six months in, and already, Americans are being arrested by drones, being killed by drones, and policed by them. Congress is attempting to take the internet with CISPA, to regulate it, to criminalize it, and to governmentalize it.  At the same time, Congress is discussing giving control of the internet over to an international government, the UN.

It has now graduated from conspiracy theory to fact, that there are lists of words that are tracked and used to investigate private citizens, and to delve into the personal life of everyday people, and to misconstrue them as hostile or extreme. It is now fact that the Pentagon has been and is hiring Propaganda Firms to attack the media, although most of the media has marched in lockstep behind the propaganda.

“It is dangerous to be right when the government is wrong” – Voltaire

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain temporal safety deserve neither” -Benjamin Franklin

It is now fact that the President of the United States has “Secret kill lists” being used to target American Citizens, without any authority from the Constitution or morality. He has hired a “Death Czar“, and New laws have made it a crime to protest near the President, and other elites who are deemed more important than their employers, We the People, the Free individuals of this Country.

“Yet that we may not appear to be defective even in earthly honors, let a day be solemnly set apart for proclaiming the charter; let it be brought forth placed on the divine law, the word of God; let a crown be placed thereon, by which the world may know, that so far as we approve of monarchy, that in America the law is king. For as in absolute governments the king is law, so in free countries the law ought to be king; and there ought to be no other”  -Thomas Paine

Senators, in their desperate attempt to steal from the salary of individual citizens to pay for the massive debts accrued and created out of thin air by the Federal Reserve, attempt to fence taxpayers in, by imposing ExPat taxesreminiscent of Nazi Germany. The National Defense Authorization Act, highly contended by Patriots around the country, and certain Congressmen, like Ron Paul and Justin Amash,  passed and confirmed the Unconstitutional authority for government to arrest American Citizens, detain them indefinitely, without trial, jury, warrant, or lawyer.

“I should have loved freedom, I believe, at all times, but in the time in which we live I am ready to worship it” – Alexis De Toqueville

The Surveillance state has grown, almost as fast as the Debt, as “BIG BROTHER” lampposts, which listen, record, and can speak to you, are being put up around the Country. As the Dollar’s weakness and absence of soundness and value is recognized, the Federal Reserve continues to print to prop up the economy in an election year, sustaining the boom and bust cycle while confirming a much larger crash down the road. Politicians, absent of the the necessary knowledge to be Representatives, ignorant of the state of the Economy, Currency, and Debt, argue for Gift shops to be built on the taxpayer dime, because they are “good for the economy”.

“Government is the great fiction, through which everybody endeavors to live at the expense of everybody else” – Frederic Bastiat

So what is it we are to do? That is a question that troubles myself, others, and has troubled others for all of time. Are we to bend to the will of tyrannical legislators, who seem all-powerful, but at the end of the day, are likely scared of the same things the average person is? Are we to bend to the will of men who are too ignorant and lazy to realize what they are doing and the consequences that come from it? Are we to bend to the will of men who promise utopia with the creation of a beast?

Are we to bend to the will of men who wish to create law, but have no respect for the Rule Of Law? Are we to worship and follow men who took an Oath to the Constitution, to only proceed to break it? If these men do not uphold an Oath of that Stature, what is their nature under other Oaths?

Are we to agree that Freedom is just a memory

“Sometimes it is said that man cannot be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others?” -Thomas Jefferson

Congressman Justin Amash said something a few days ago, that you’ve heard before, but was unique in timing and environment, as the Congress had just rejected his amendment to the NDAA to eliminate the indefinite detention provisions:

“If only the American people really understood how much power they have to stop the madness in Congress”

What if we had 10%? What if we could just get 10% of Americans learning the philosophy of liberty, calling in, emailing, discussing with others, rallying, and protesting? What if we could achieve 15%? What if 15% of Americans were visiting the Mises Institute and learning about the Free Market, the Rule Of Law, The Philosophy of Liberty? What if 15% of Americans were electing Liberty Candidates or thinking of becoming one on their own? Should this not be the goal?

“It does not take a majority to prevail… but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men” -Samuel Adams

“Though the flame of liberty may sometimes cease to shine, the coal can never expire” -Thomas Paine

Knowledge contains within it a rare property, an ability, to not grow scarce when spread or given, but instead, upon acquisition, its trade, or gifting, to self-propagate. An idea cannot be restricted in its growth within the mind of a man, and it is the idea, or the thought, that is a determinant of human action.

If the idea of tyranny can spread within the minds of men of authority, and motivate action, and yield success, cannot the idea of Liberty spread in the minds of Free Individuals, motivate action, and yield success? If what motivates men of power to rule is just an idea, and behind the power is a normal man, what occurs when many normal men learn and act on the idea of Liberty?

“I think by far the most important bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised, for the preservation of freedom and happiness…Preach, my dear Sir, a crusade against ignorance; establish & improve the law for educating the common people. Let our countrymen know that the people alone can protect us against these evils [tyranny, oppression, etc.] and that the tax which will be paid for this purpose is not more than the thousandth part of what will be paid to kings, priests and nobles who will rise up among us if we leave the people in ignorance.” -Thomas Jefferson [Source]
