AB 499 , recently signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown of California and sponsored by Assemblywomen Toni Atkins, allows minors to receive the HPV vaccine Gardasil without any parental consent, agreement, or signature.
Yes, you read that right. Now, in the state of California, minors of certain age groups are allowed to receive a Gardasil vaccine without their parents consent. Now, you and I, as well as everyone else, know that these vaccines are going to be pushed in ads and in schools. I had advertisements all around the lunch room in my school, and in most cases, I’m fine with this. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with Advertising, or selling a product. I think Capitalism is the best type of system there is and is at the foundation of a free society. But, this isn’t Capitalism. And I’ll explain this more below.
This is a huge parental rights issue. Allowing the Government to take power over children away from their parents is completely wrong. Is it right that companies will be able to push vaccines on children without their parents knowledge? I mean, according to the law, minors aren’t even considered adults, and by the standards of our society, aren’t even considered old enough to cook their own meals, or go without adult supervision for prolonged periods. Now, the California legislature and Governor Jerry Brown think minors can make the decision of whether to get a vaccine or not?!?
You haven’t even heard the worst of it yet though. Not only do many groups voice their concern for this bill, there are new allegations that ask some tough questions of the California legislature on campaign donations from Merck (seen below & HERE) . This is what I meant, where Capitalism ends, when companies can make unlimited donations to their own Super Pacs for Canidates they know will listen to them and the politicians are in full compliance.
Some would primarily criticize Merck, but when we take a step back, isn’t the Government the one who assumed the role to protect society from this type of corruption? Isn’t the legislature supposed to recognize that by accepting donations from Merck, and then passing bills against the will of the people on behalf of Merck is Unconstitutional?
The people need to wake up and stand up for themselves. We have totally lost control of our country and it is completely our fault. We chose to focus on our own personal accomplishments and stresses and forgot that to even pursue happiness, we must have our rights and our freedom.

I did a quick search for Merck’s corporate donations, which I encourage you to do. There’s an entire section on California legislature, and I’m not going to link to it, because I want you to search, and you to read this for yourself on official pages. All the donations are right there.
These issues will keep arising for as long as the people are dormant. As long as the people avoid using their Constitutional rights to petition Government and choose the better companies, corruption will run rampant and keep the marriage between Corporation and Government strong.
