Christian Bale Workout:

Bale’s workout seemed to be heavily composed of compound exercises and martial arts training, which must of played a key role in giving him the ability to complete the necessary movements for the movie.

Compound exercises play such a major role in many celebrities workouts because of the massive amount of muscle activated with each movement and the interest they generate.

Common compound exercises are as follows:

  • Bench press
  • Dumbbell chest press
  • Cable chest press
  • Push up
  • Dip
  • Pull up
  • Inverse Row
  • Rowing movement w/ weights
  • Squat
  • Lunge
  • Deadlift
  • Sprint

Now, this is just a simple list of exercises that are commonly used and that are effective.

Typically, a weight lifting routine of these exercises is rotated with some type of cardio-based workout, and in this case, Bale focused in on martial arts training (although sprint training may be similar).

Typically, a 3-5 day a week workout routine will work, as long as focus is kept on safety, form, and intensity.

And for those interested, my friend Rusty Moore, owner and operator of Fitness Black Book, has created workout routines that help fitness enthusiasts achieve Hollywood worthy bodies. I personally use them because of their interest and effectiveness, and they are found here.

Christian Bale Diet:

Christian Bale’s eating pattern seems to follow the same pattern of many celebrities. If I could put a certain category to it, it would be a carb-manipulation diet.

It’s been said that Bale likes to eat the majority of his carbohydrates in the morning and in the meal immediately following workouts. Especially when training for movies such as the above, Bale focuses mainly on consuming proteins, healthy fats, vitamins and minerals.

The carbohydrates he needs for energy are consumed at breakfast and around workouts.

In my opnion, this is an excellent eating pattern, and one that I follow often. The most common problem I see though is a lack of variety, which can be fixed with a simple pile of recipes, such as those found in the Paleo Cookbook.

Christian Bale Workout and Diet Philosophy:

When researching and writing on celebrity workouts, there are common questions that come up. Most commonly, the question of whether “x” celebrity workout will work for me or you is what comes up. And the answer is always the same. As we can see with Christian Bale and his workout/diet, it takes a certain level of dedication to your body to achieve what you want to achieve. And as we can tell by the results of others, this same dedication and consistency can be achieved by any non-celebrity.If you stay consistent, stay dedicated, and stay focused on your goals, you will soon achieve them, regardless of your celebrity status.

For sure, it’s always interesting when you find out that the celebrities who usually look best on screen (as far as body transformations go) are usually the ones using the more intelligently created routines.
