Protandim Review

This Protandim review is completely about the supplement itself and not the business side of Protandim. Although I do know a few people who have had success with the business side, I’m more obliged to inform people about the health related benefits that I’ve experienced from protandim. I wanted to write a protandim review because of how useful I’ve found it to be, and how thankful I am to Sean Croxton, author of the Dark Side of Fat Loss, for pointing out Protandim for me and others. I was just about to make a couple purchases (for myself and family) and thought I should also share this great product with my readers.  What are the Protandim Ingredients? Milk Thistle Extract Bacopa Extract Ashwagandha Green Tea Extract Turmeric Extract As a little side note here, I’m sure a couple of the more supplement-orientated folk glance at these popular ingredients and wonder if they can just make the product themselves. As far as I’ve heard, it’s not only the ingredients that makes protandim great, but the special blend. You can try, but I’m not sure that it’s a great idea from an efficiency and safety standpoint. What is Protandim? To me, Protandim [...]

Does Coffee Make You Fat or Does Coffee Burn Fat?

Disclosure 1: I drink coffee. All that means is that the answer to our research question-does coffee burn fat or does coffee make you fat-may be biased. As a short side note, many people aren’t wondering whether coffee makes you fat or burns fat, but instead, whether coffee’s caffeine burns fat or whether coffee’s caffeine does not burn fat. I might switch between the two throughout the article, but just know that I consider both the same for this writing. I will likely not mention decaffeinated coffee in this article. Coffee is a controversial subject area within the fields of health, diet, and fitness. There are people who say you should never drink any coffee! Then, there are people who say coffee makes them skinnier, richer, and happier (a little exaggeration). I don’t like to be on the extreme in any issue, especially with the issue of coffee or caffeine making you fat or burning fat. I personally like a strong cup or two of black coffee in the morning and that is usually it for the day (trying to play that off like it is a small amount ). [Fun fact: The term "Americano", which is basically an espresso with enough added water [...]

Reasons for a Weight Loss Plateau and How to Break One

Spring is here and the vanity-based goals are in full-swing. With goals come plateaus, especially weight loss plateaus, and below are weight loss plateau breakers that I think will assist in augmenting weight loss for many. [Every duck looks the same! No uniqueness. This is exactly what happens with weight loss plateaus; everyone experiences them and many give in, thus, many look exactly the same. It's only those who break weight loss plateaus who will achieve that unique body they are in pursuit of.] Too much sugar/carbohydrate, a reason for a weight loss plateau: Excess sugar and carbohydrate will drive up insulin, priming your body for fat storage. If this process is repeated over and over again, especially with sedentary individuals, insulin resistance can occur and fat loss will be a memory of the distant past, until carbohydrate intake is normalized. Additionally, excess sugars indirectly lead to weight gain because of increased cravings and ease of consumption. The fix is limiting carbohydrate intake to filling foods with nutrients for most of the time (80-90 percent), such as fruits, vegetables, beans, and potatoes. Too many calories, a reason for a weight loss plateau: The line between sufficient and excess calories is very thin when consuming [...]
