Chris Hemsworth Thor Workout and Diet

Chris Hemsworth is an Australian born Actor and has acted in various films, such as Star Trek.

One thing is for sure, after his upcoming film ,you will know him and his face. Why?

Chris Hemsworth will be Thor in the upcoming action movies, Thor and the Avengers.

And Chris Hemsworth’s Workout is worth discussing because of the sheer importance of an action film’s star having a body that impresses the audience and makes the movie more believable. Chris Hemsworth had to achieve the “Hollywood look“.

Thor is the same “group” of superheroes as Iron Man, Captain America and The Hulk. And even if you’re not really into the whole superhero fad, these have all been pretty great movies… Here’s the trailer for Thor:

As you can see in the above trailer, Chris Hemsworth’s Workout and Diet did him well. He added roughly 20 pounds of weight for the role, with most of it being muscle. He also managed to maintain a lean and low bodyfat, as you can tell by his clearly visible six pack.

Chris Hemsworth Workout and Diet Philosophy:

Chris Hemsworth dedicates his body to the focus he put into his workouts, diet and sleep. For once, an actor is recognizing something besides workouts and diet for results!

Chris said it was very important for him to get a ton of sleep, and that sleep played a key role in him adding the good weight.

He’s actually being quoted saying all he did besides film was workout, eat and sleep.

This isn’t breaking news to my consistent readers though, we’ve covered sleep. We know that sleep is very important for maintaining good hormonal balance, especially in hormones that help you burn fat and build muscle. ;)

For him to take the time to understand the various aspects of health is a sign of intelligence. It’s a sign of a proactive person.

And for that person to take that knowledge and put it into action and get results, that is a sign of a dedicated individual.

Taking the time to research and learn about health before you take action (still remember to take action) is a key step to achieving your own health.

Chris Hemsworth Workout:

Putting on 20 pounds while staying ultra-lean is a tough feat, but it’s definitely achievable with enough dedication and focus.

Chris Hemsworth’s Workout was full of compound exercises over isolation exercises.

Compound exercises simply recruit more muscle fibers in more areas of the body to work together in synergy. Isolation exercises usually recruit a good amount of muscle fiber, but more specifically in one area of the body.

Because of the amount of work required with compound exercises, the amount of muscle activated, calories burned and hormonal benefit is increased.

Some examples of compound exercises commonly used are:

  • Deadlift
  • Squat
  • Front Squat
  • Lunge (and its’ variations)
  • Sprints
  • Chest Press
  • Cable Chest Press
  • Bench Press
  • Shoulder Press
  • Push Press
  • Push up
  • Pull-up
  • Inverse Row
  • Bent Over Row (and any row variation)

These are just a select few, but the idea is that the more muscle fiber recruited, the more you will experience the benefits I talked about above. As a common superhero saying goes, with great power comes great responsibility (Spiderman).

What does that mean in this situation?

That means if you choose to participate in exercise, especially compound lifts, you need to practice great form. Look up the exercises, ask a trainer to help, either way, make sure you’re doing the exercises properly. Do that, and the results will be well worth the effort.

Chris Hemsworth Diet:

Chris Hemsworth diet was explained by him as being full of chicken, protein shakes and good carbs. He also mentioned that he kept it low in sugar and used variations of chicken to keep things spicy.

This isn’t the first example of carb manipulation with a celebrity. The first celebrity I actually heard of using carb manipulation was Hugh Jackman, in his role as Wolverine.

It’s a growing trend, and the most common way of doing it that I’ve seen with celebrities (Jackman, Ryan Reynolds, ect…) is as follows:

  • Keep diet high in protein for satiety
  • Keep diet low in sugary foods throughout
  • Intake carbohydrate through starches
  • Focus on protein and carbohydrate up until workouts
  • Post-workout until sleep focus on protein and fats, keep carbohydrate low

Now obviously there’s some variation from person to person, but generally, this is the structure I’ve seen, and judging by the bodies, it works. As far as cheating goes, the chatter is low, but celebrities such as Daniel Craig(James Bond) has said he keeps it strict during the week, and lets loose a little on weekends.

That’s a tip I use myself, it allows for great results during the week, and a little upregulation in good hormones and psychological relief on the weekends.

So if we continue with the list above, the diet would go as follows:

  • Keep diet high in protein for satiety
  • Keep diet low in sugary foods throughout
  • Intake carbohydrate through starches
  • Focus on protein and carbohydrate up until workouts
  • Post-workout until sleep focus on protein and fats, keep carbohydrate low
  • Let a loose a little on the weekends (don’t go crazy) and straighten up during the week

Not a bad plan if you ask me. Actually the only difference between this and my way of eating is the inclusion of some intermittent fasting, but that’s not for everyone.

I’d like to end the Chris Hemsworth Workout and Diet on this note:

Yes, the focus of the post is Chris Hemsworth workout and diet, but not because the guys got some special talent over any of you. Celebrities do have Chefs and personal trainers, but in the end, that’s not what gets them the body so many people appreciate.

It’s the hard work they put in at the gym, the food they eat, how long they sleep, how well they manage their stress, and a couple other lifestyle factors that get them their results.

You have the exact same potential. So if you want that “Hollywood look“, then go out and get it!
